That Last Summer: the English edition of Aquel Último verano is out in the US market

This is a very different blog post, mostly because it’s written in English, but I needed to come and talk about That Last Summer, book one in the Cabana series. I'm so proud of this translation, so happy to be a part of the Cabana family and excited to ride this path with Susan—its author— and all the guys. This is for you, Anglo-Saxon reader who is giving this new series a chance. I hope you get to love Alex and Priscila the way Spanish readers did and ask for more books, more translations, more Medirranean Sea and more Cabanas. We'll be glad to give it to you.

—That Last Summer Blurb—

When he was only eight, Alexander St. Claire moved from London to a little town in Alicante, to a summer colored with green and the music of the ‘90s. On the other side of the swimming pool, in the house across the street, lived five-year-old Priscila Cabana.

He taught her to count and to swim and to hold her breath. He colored her summers and she loved him from that first moment.

She was his angel in the darkness, his Queen of the Desert.

And then one summer afternoon, she just . . . left.

Four years later, her beloved Mediterranean Sea, the sun, the water, and her brother’s wedding call Priscila back to her hometown. To her family, and the places she loves. But she also comes back to . . . Alex.

Alex, who wants nothing to do with her. Whose eyes reflect only resentment and hostility. Who is still her husband.

What happened that last summer?

That last Summer is a completely standalone contemporary romance, sexy, evocative, full of family, and feels.

Tropes:
  • Enemies to lovers
  • Second chance romance
  • Athlete hero
  • Betrayal
  • First love
  • Home for the holidays
  • Small town
  • Weddings
  • Neighbors
  • Mediterranean heroes

Are you ready to know Priscila and Alex?

And Adrián, Hugo, Marc, and River Cabana? And what about their love interests?
(All books in this series are M/F romance except for book two—my favorite, can't wait to translate it— that is M/M)

Are you curious about how they sound? That Last Summer has its own playlist on Spotify, here you have the original soundtrack link:

It has a few changes since we've introduced some songs for you, English Speaking readers, for your fully enjoyment and understanding, I hope you like it!

By the way, today is June 24, St. John's Eve, a remarkable date in the whole series, so releasing That Last Summer today is huge, and meaningful, and precious, and I love it so much.

Happy reading!
Cheers
Virginia
